in the face of some situations, we seem to become like children. a friend i know and look up to for many years appear so youthful, almost like a child. still steady as ever, but it's sort of weird seeing it in that youth like appearance.

maybe we all are children still in some sense. where we are starting off on something new, we are all inexperienced, doing things for the first time. of course being 24 does not mean i have been doing everything in the universe for 24 years. for example, i wouldnt know anything at all about administrating america. nor am i truly interested, anyway. but in the light of being placed in something like that one day, would i not just be a kid sitting behind a large mahogany table? would my decisions and views be up to expectations? probably not. it might still be respectably acceptable for a 24 yr old on the street, but it wouldnt justify me being behind the table.

since we are all still children in some sense, let us take a step back and grant each other the opportunity and space to learn, for our own very first times. if we can all do that, the only thing we can be afraid of is when a child chooses not to learn for himself or herself.
