jc: 好一句“谁在乎?”!

anyway, i came back yesterday from the cac chalet. many thing happened so let me recall slowly. first the aftermath of the chalet. i met allen and weiren at west coast plaza (after walking with cheryl from kr terminal to her place) apparently they were preparing for some performance thing. i think i might be able to guess what allen is up to, considering i've been receiving info on my end too. but he has become such a prominent figure in the scene, it's quite amazing. anyway, on the way back i went to nanyang mart to pick up soya bean, and met the e7 gang there. then we visited xq who was running road show dry run in the comm hall, and chatted with jackie for some time. that was it.

now the chalet. i remember going to the chalet very reluctantly. when i signed the indemnity form (and asked eng seng to sign as witness) i was thinking, what the hell am i doing, agreeing to go for this sort of event on behalf of reso, and like hey that shouldnt be my job and the fact that i'm signing a form like that made me more pissed somehow. but when i eventually got there, and first met up with mel and xueyi at the mrt, i felt somewhat better. maybe because somewhere in between, i told myself to take it as a break. i needed time to rethink myself, what i am living for and to take a break from the things that were killing me slowly. and so it is, after a chance encounter with xueyi at 7-11 and then later formally meeting her in the mrt station, and meeting the very happy d'hoppers and helping to bring ice back from the supermarket, we settled into the chalet (after some chatting at the registration booth too) once in the chalet, the d'hoppers very happily took up one room by themselves, and myself decided to just sit alone in the living room. the moment the main comm arrived from the other room, they almost immediately came and watched tv with me. i really think they did that specifically to accompany me cos i was all alone at a retreat, and i am very glad for their hospitality. they really watched out for me throughout the chalet, from stoning in the living room, to cooking bbq but not eating (until much later), to arriving mid-way for night cycling so they had to pick me up separately. at the end, i would say they have been very very very kind. and so were the rest. the d'hoppers had infectious levels of happiness, and they re-taught me the meaning to live life being happy. anything goes, really, as long as we can all be happy. the voices ppl were nice and friendly, and represented the quieter side of the chalet. they were very nice to invite me to go for mcd breakfast together. there were too many moments to describe. but i must conclude saying that this retreat was really important to me, because it did exactly what i needed. warmth and rest. and infectiously happy people.

i regret that no one else went for the chalet, not even for the bbq. i dunno if the next one will be as good, but i got way more than the $20 fee that i paid. if there was another chance to find happiness with such ease, i probably will go for it again.
