i was telling a someone that i often only blog because things didnt turn out well. indeed i did not blog about yesterday's second lesson. which i would say was not too bad. amazingly my tutor flashed in and out of lab without me realising. that shows something about my with-it-ness

1. my with-it-ness is at a grand total level of 1. there was also a boiling tube that smashed on the floor at the front of the lab. no one saw how it happened although i suspect it was one of those roll-off-the-table incidents. no student admitted that they were missing a boiling tube. our society apparently scares our youths so much that they do not have common sense nor sense of responsibility for any wrongdoing anymore.
2. Lesson went fairly smoothly, again 80% improvisations but at least i remembered to collect worksheets in front and then forgot to give out worksheets at the end. win. =x
3. this S17 is a real classic study of mixed abilities. seriously. the other class was not half as extreme, and there was more camaraderie and people helped each other. how should i facilitate this sort of attitude in class?
4. ironically there's cme class today at 8am. i dunno if i should be attending.
5. think. probe. i need to keep at it longer and ask higher quality questions. they are finding my questions boring, i bet. let's try asking high end questions and breaking them down if all fails (what about those who are trailing?)

Jason apparently had some questions about whether inner shell electrons can be isolated and promoted to the LOMO. i told him why not (through jc)
