pw reflections from monday, 8 march.

pw seemed rather haphazard. apparently the students were informed on saturday via the school email system, that they were to prepare a speech on the topic "youths have a role to play in conservation". The lesson concept was for members to present to each other in small groups, and then a selected few will speak in front of the class. This did not work well because only about 5 students prepared speeches. Sadly as well, none of the students actually addressed the actual question. Many simply promoted conservation of some form, but missing out on what youths can do, or why youths should be the one to take that role. This issue was subtly not addressed, if not there would have been endless shooting down of presenters. All this seems to be last minute programmes inserted to keep the students busy while waiting for the official topics to be revealed.
