the gang should be coming home over the next few days. good good.
it's friday. sunday's meeting with geraldine. after realising that my initial sort through my papers have revealed many missing notes and other things that i have not noticed, i searched my room and found a box of scores, with some academic stuff inside. almost fainted. after sorting through that box (in the process missing a very good friend from jc, more than before, sobsob) there was still missing notes. then i searched my room again! and this time i found a three layer document tray, still loaded with papers. i have decided to continue the search tomorrow. buay tahan liao. i did recover some physics notes from the scores box though. that's good enough progress for today.
i also realised that i was surprisingly poor in academics back in jc. kept scoring Ds, Os, that sort of grade (yes even for my favourite subject chemistry) somehow my teachers did not decide that i ought to hit the wall at a very high velocity to learn my lesson. i scraped passed a levels and very fortunately / surprisingly qualified for university education at nus. i think i ought to have failed. somehow all i can remember to date was how i did at the final exam, which was by no means reflective of me being the distracted, problematic, hopeless teenager i was for the rest of the two years (minus the a levels period of one month or so) it was so bad i was looking forward to going into army to get a break. (yah i remember that. it was a good thing at that time, i needed that peace to reflect, and i hope things have cooled off by now. it also explains why i was very focused on army stuff. i didnt want to think about other things too much)
in conclusion, i was not a good student. but i was lucky to have met those i met, who took care of me and helped bring me across that difficult period, and today i'm still the same slacker that you know from 5 years ago, maybe a little more educated, but that doesnt make very much difference does it?
