i sent the summertime recording from fort canning park to yuan ting. she replied "rofl... i dunno whether to laugh or puke" no idea what that means.

went for resonance auditions today. hopefully it'll help to maintain the muscles. i'm getting weaker and weaker by the day, during audition today i dared a Eb scale down, which turned out alright. right now i think D scale down is still acceptable but not Db. in any case if i just go straight to D it becomes rather unacceptable. edmund looks like he has not much choice. well, other than lyndley. edmund's friend whose name i have forgotten yet again did admit that they actually have baritones instead of basses. but honestly i dun think girls understand this thing about being bass. it's not up to us to decide, or even train for range. well, not entirely. it's like i could squeeze up to a F when i was still sop, and that feeling is different from when i'm trying to hit Db. if you cant, you train to relax more. if you still cant, you probably just cant. after 7 years in the lower staff, relaxation continues to prove itself to be very difficult.

i quote bacco (who is still my favourite bass): "although it's helpful to have a real deep voice, it's better to know how to use what you have." there's a clear line which one i have more space to work on. but i need more experimentation, dedication, and discipline to treat it as a formal form of art. hopefully when everyone returns, i'll be ready to roll out some grooves.

i have a slight headache now. probably will go to sleep early. no idea if there's lessons tomorrow, i guess i'll just pop by the school to check it out.

just came back from dinner at compass point soup restaurant with 4P guys. jeremy, huangyu, biyong, zhao ling, jia yong and raymond. we played basketball in sengkang area in the afternoon before going for dinner. it was great to see the guys after so long. huangyu now stands at 175, way beyond what i have ever achieved, even with the help of gravity.

yesterday we did prac at bx's place, surprisingly we did not touch the xbox throughout the day. didnt learn any new songs after we discovered how inhumane the arrangements were. difficulties mainly lie in hitting either very high or very low notes. even matt cant hit a B. there's a reason why the bass clef requires ledger lines for anything lower than a Fb. At night we hopped over to chinatown area and settled for dinner at swensens. qiying had to rush off to catch a movie with his neighbour (nice neighbour.) so the rest of us went to clarke quay hoping for a jazz bar, but we settled at bungy bar in the end. zher ee joined us at about 10.30, and juncai left at about 10. we basically chatted over the drinks for the whole time. it's good to get to talk so much before those guys fly off again. sigh. on the way home i met mingze when i was getting off at punggol. apparently he has moved to punggol since he was j2. i've got his msn and hp if you guys are interested, and much to my horror, the try tone scores are not with him. seems like those are with edmund. wth.

dil sent me a page about a server provider refusing to register singapore users as a protest against singapore's execution practice. personally i dun think it's a big deal. the law his been there for many years. you wanna test the law, go ahead. just dun get your supporters to make all the hoohas after you've been caught.

two modules left to bid for~ hoping for one today but i'll be leaving home to do dental and stuff, so still looking for someone to help me check on the bidding haha. ah well. chatting with oc kenneth and yew wai now, will be leaving real soon to meet bx at sengkang for lunch tho, like super multitaksing now hahaha

supposed to reach sim at 1115 today. then i decided to go back for the xqrj shirt, (the turn about point was i think redhill.) and so i reached there 2 hrs late. i am amazing. anyway on the second trip out i met tan song ren on the train as he was getting off at queensway. he's studying at mdis now, a 6mth advanced diploma course. stunning. he said he got a C+ and 2 As. i cant remember the name of the course though. that's not bad. i got a B-.

after the bidding round today i still have 4 modules to bid for. there's one that already exceeded the quota, meaning i might get it at a high price, or i might not get it at all. ah well. we'll see. anyway my 4 year course (we plan to succeed, therefore we plan base on 4 years) is set at only 6 mods a semester, with one semester at 5. that's pretty relaxed i guess. the trouble is how the hell am i going to keep getting 6 mods during bidding? therefore the contingency plan. in essence it's creating more space to fall back on. i'm hoping for 2 modules during this round. btw you should check out the bidding histories. there was one module which had a lowest successful bid of 2601 points. there was a fella who bid 2600 points. i think he must very upset now. then again, i wouldnt want to pay 2600 points for a module and then run low on points for the next few sems. sherlyn was complaining over her msn nic about not getting a module even when she bid 900 points. managed to find that module (that's how bored i am) and hey hey she's the highest unsuccessful bid. i hope she doesnt know about that. that's really going to make people upset.

i am very hungry. bedtime~

i dun tell my family much about my activities. for instance which subjects i took, my results for the exams, that i'm taking driving lessons now, that i sat for my theory exam some months ago. occasionally i tell them some stuff, but i guess it's in my habit of poor expression.

my determination is measured to be worth 790 pages. my library book expires tomorrow.

i tried playing ff1. you should try the first mission man. it was like hahaha yu call that the best swordsman in the land? he didnt last very long.

my cable is as good as dead. almost. i had to refresh the browser about 6 times to read my mei's blog. as in just so that the words appear. i'm not even talking about the photos or the tagboard. loading this posting page also takes about 4 tries on average.

we sent of dear matt yesterday. so the six of us, matt's fam and shin were at the airport in the evening. we did a mini celebration for jc's bday at the airport itself, so that we could all do it together. matt will be back again on july 2, so we'll probably incubate till that period. mei didnt join us since she was like not in the country until rather late. after the sending off we went over to bx place (successfully by public transport, phew) and pretty much played overnight. ze went off to sleep halfway tho haha. we managed to cover halo2, dai di and mahjong (non-tiles kind. bs's whole fam was "sleeping" yah right. who the hell could really be sleeping when we were making all the noise) pretty much ran out of battery so i came home and slept from 12 to 7. well done. i missed my platoon lunch (which turned out to have only 3 people due to late notification. somehow we couldnt compromise on the time and place beforehand) i'm more or less recovered tho i need to sleep soon in preparation for tmr.

we drunk quite a bit at bx's place. it was mainly on the basis of losing daidi or winning mahjong (no drinking for halo2 haha) we managed to clear half of the remaining of csl's coconut rum. many years ago i decided that drinking was pointless and i should just stop it. now i'm beginning to buy the concept that sometimes drinking with a few good buddies is a way of comforting yourself that everything can be coped with, that these guys will be around with you till the end. i think that for friends, drinking is well worth it. i guess i've changed then.

i received a call from shu en at 0018hrs to help out at sim tmr 1115hrs. i'm just recording the timings down to show how exciting university life can be. (we never really left army did we.) due to bidding i have to bid early tomorrow then quickly rush to sim. i probably will not get the chance to bid again before the round closes, since the activity ends at 3pm. my dear darlings, i do not live in singapore. i think most people still dun get my point. punggol land is in no way geographically even remotely close to the sunny island of singapore.

had a short sms exchange with jc bitching about the late organisation. organisation is not a easy thing. it doesnt work just by pulling 5 people together, call them committee heads, give them one task each to do and then go back to study. no dear, you've got it all wrong. there are many ways of doing organisation, and i must admit my way is the self-centred kind of way, but i can confidently say that the way it's being run now we aint gonna see many people on the day of the finals. the team is not ready to work with such little coordination. tell you what, go out there to the corporate world and organise an event or two. you might learn so much more from there.
